A new month means a new premium theme for free here at TWP. I might say every month that the theme chosen to be free is one of my favorites but this time I am very serious! Shooter is one of the most fun themes I have developed. Although there are other themes I’ve made that I really like because of it’s aesthetic appeal or animation. After being a very liked section on The World Of Pootermobile, 10 Questions With Pootermobile is back with another round of interesting questions, and the guest this time is…not really a guest? Yep, the interviewer becomes the interviewee! A few days ago I asked my Twitter followers to ask me anything they wanted along with the hashtag #AskPootermobile. The response was quite interesting, shall we take a look at what was asked?

1. Q:

A: You know, I’ve always been a fan of sci-fi and whether there is life on other planets. And after careful consideration I do believe that aliens helped build the pyramids.

2. Q:

A: My favorite BlackBerry app do date is Socialscope. That is the first app I download onto a new BlackBerry, if I ever do get a new one. Ever since I first got an invite to the app I was enthralled with it’s integration of Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, and Flickr. I also really like the UI of Socialscope.

3. Q:

A: This is a question I used to get alot when I first joined BlackBerry forums and sites. My name has nothing to do with a mobile phone. I actually got the name Pootermobile from one of my favorite band’s song called “Pootermobile.”  The lyrics to the song are…”Pootermobile!” And they actually pronounce it “pootermobeel” exactly how it’s explained in the question above

4. Q:

A: The first time I laid eyes on a BlackBerry I thought it was the sexiest device ever! That BlackBerry was a Bold 9000 and it was a gift from my dad. The first thing that I started doing was to look for wallpapers for it. While looking through the web I found that I could download themes for it! So I started downloading some themes here and there. The next logical step was me finding out if I can make some themes myself. I started messing around with Theme Studio (Plazmic back then) and I noticed that I could do other things besides simple bottom docks. I loved how I could do almost anything I could imagine on the homescreen. And to answer your second question, themes is one of the things that has kept me on BlackBerry to date.

5. Q:

A: I get inspired to make a theme design by many things in my surroundings. It can be anything from a car to a birthday card I saw at the store. I guess it’s just translating what I saw into something on the BlackBerry screen.

6. Q:

A: For me the one difficulty can be just starting on the theme. But when already in the process of making at theme it can be anything from the SVG coding not working, or something as simple as not knowing what to name the theme. Different difficulties arise with every theme I make. Sometimes there is that one theme that goes through the whole development process without any problems. But it is very satisfying when you finally finish a theme that had a problem you thought wouldn’t be possible to smooth out.

7. Q:

A: I actually had to google this one haha! After skimming through the plot and waking up after falling asleep while reading about Life I think the show was cancelled because it just sounded like any other crime drama out there. But I’m allergic to reading so maybe I just have to watch the show for myself.

8. Q:

A: I actually dislike the term “jump ship” very much. It just has a negative connotation to it. I love all kinds of tech but when it comes to having a singular daily device I am always gonna be on a BlackBerry. I sometimes use an Android device I purchased from ebay a while ago. I use the Android device mostly for learning how to make themes for it and other types of skins for apps. Besides Android there really isn’t any other platform I would consider moving to as my daily driver.

9. Q:

A: Good question! I am actually working on another simplistic yet stylish design. You can take a look of the work in progress HERE.

A: Very nice! Let us end on a refreshing note. I have several favorite ice cream flavors but the one that I am actually craving right now is Medieval Madness mmmmmmm!

Delicioso is Spanish for delicious. And boy is this theme yummy! With a simple approach to the homescreen Delicioso only has a weather slot and your essentials like time, date, and meters. But that doesn’t mean this theme is lacking in the eye candy department. The dock holding the weather slot and time has a nice tucked in effect and looks good with mostly any wallpaper of your choice. And at a reasonable price a nom nom of a theme like Delicioso is a sure purchase!

10 Questions with Pootermobile is back with another theme developer guest. This time Samgbx Designs has graciously accepted the invitation to get asked 10 questions about his themes and other things. Sam is a very talented theme developer with an exceptional sense of design. 1. Q: What was your first BlackBerry?

 
A: Curve 8900 (if it had a trackpad I’d still have it to this day)
2. Q: How did you get into making themes for BlackBerry?

 
A: I saw themes on CrackBerry & by that time I was pretty sick of the Default blue. Color changed & then went from there

3. Q: Have you always been interested in design?

 
A: Yes. When I was around seventeen I started making themes for a site called bebo & been in love since.

4. Q: Why are most of your themes named in Spanish?

A: Because everything sounds good in spanish

5. Q: Touchscreen or keyboard?

 
A: hmmm…one of the reasons I got a BlackBerry is because of the keyboard & since getting a torch I have regretted it since. My perfect looking device would be the 9900!

6. Q: I know you have done a couple of mockups of your dream twitter app, what would you name the app if you had a chance to develop it?

 
A: Twexy? :p (I just thought of that, you put me on the spot!)

7. Q: Why theme for BlackBerry?

 
A: Because its a great way to share things that I am proud of. There’s nothing like designing a theme you love & having other people love it also

8. A: Besides designing themes for Blackberry, do you do other things in design?

 
Q: Not really no. I have always wanted to develop websites but teaching myself is pretty hard! One day

9. A: Favorite nickname for Pootermobile?
A: POOTS this is too hard!! Pooty, Pootsypooterton…the list goes on

After a long while of having promised to make android themes I present to you Redox MIUI! Since I am primarily a BlackBerry theme developer I decided to put a bit of a BB flare to my first android theme hence the naming of a familiar theme to some. With some different OS7 icons and a nice dock this theme makes you do a double take. If you used to be on a BlackBerry it might take you back, and if you have always been on an android you’ll get a feel of something different. So go ahead and try Redox MIUI today! (I am still learning about themeing for android so this theme is a work in progress)
